The sun is shining and a lot of beautiful smiles are coming out with fresh hope that summer truly is just round the corner! Here at Cornhill Dental our team strives to give our patients the confidence they need to flash those pearly whites all year long. Jeremy and Orla have been having some wonderful feedback from the fantastic cosmetic treatments they have been providing, including Quick Straight Teeth, Enlighten tooth whitening & Facial Rejuvenation treatments. We are very excited to announce that we are in the process of setting up a 0% interest payment plan to spread the cost over a six-month period. More information will follow in coming newsletters, but please do not hesitate to contact the Practice if you have any queries or would like further information.

With the warm weather coming and school holidays fast approaching it is important to remember the damage that can be done to our lovely teeth when we have too much sugar or acid in our diets. Ice-cream on the beach, a refreshing fizzy drink or juice will go down well with the children, but please keep in mind that these types of foods and drinks should be kept as a treat. Try to encourage water intake in between meals and keep snacking savoury. Fresh fruit is always a healthy option but do be aware of acidity levels in citrus fruits and even in apples. Everything in moderation!

On Saturday, June 3rd, Heather, our Practice Manager, is getting prepared to abseil 320ft down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth! This is quite a feat for Heather as she is terrified of heights but she is helping to raise £80,000 for her grandson, Sonny, who has four-limb cerebral palsy and is in need of a selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) operation which will allow him to sit normally and to walk unaided. We have a donation bucket on our reception should you wish to donate or you can go to www.just4children/sonnysdreamtowalk. Heather would like to thank you in advance for your kindness and we will keep you all informed of how she gets on and hopefully we will have some pictures of her looking terrified and then triumphant!

We are sad to announce that our hygienist, Amanda, is leaving us in June to start a new adventure. She enjoyed her time at Cornhill Dental over the last two years and her last piece of advice is to Keep Smiling (and don’t forget to clean in-between)!

Finally, a very happy birthday to our wonderful receptionist Jayne, who celebrated her 60th birthday at the end of May. Jayne has been a valued member of the Cornhill Dental team for 16 years and enjoys seeing all of your familiar, friendly faces year after year.
